For the second year, more than 100 horses will cross the heart of the Ile-de-France region to reach Paris on the occasion of urban equestrian raids, on July 6 and 7.
Open to emeritus riders, enthusiasts or beginners, the Route Eiffel offers 2 exceptional itineraries showcasing the riches of the Ile-de-France region, the historic sites of Paris and the Olympics of Paris 2024.
On the morning of Saturday 6 July, 2 circuits are offered:
One through the Val d'Oise department, will lead individual and initiated riders, equipped with their horses and mastering map reading, to discover the landscapes and heritage of the Vexin.
For the less experienced, a circuit will allow you to stroll through the alleys of the Château de Versailles. They will play in small groups, accompanied by a graduate coach with their horse or a territorial horse for rent.
In the evening, all riders and horses will gather at L'Ecole Militaire of Paris and will be invited to attend the Grand Prix of the Longines Global Champions Tour.
On Sunday, July 7, no less than 100 horses will walk the Parisian cobblestones for a hike of more than 3 hours.
At the start of Ecole Militaire, the participants, supervised by the Police on horseback, will take a fascinating route amidst the most beautiful monuments of the capital: the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramid of the Louvre, the Ile St Louis, the Invalides… , before marching on the track of the Longines Global Champions Tour – Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping with the horse band of the Republican Guard.
Through these hikes, Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel, president and founder of the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping since 2013 and the Ile-de-France region are committed to offering Parisians and francilians an unprecedented experience, on the occasion of the 6th edition of the LGCT-LPEJ.
The Route Eiffel is also an opportunity to highlight the diversity of horse breeds in our regions: the Cheval Auvergne, the Camargue, Castillonnais, Corsica, Henson, Mérens, The Dutch Pony, Pottok and Cheval Vercors de Barraquand.
